...and this is a good thing!

A piece of digital art made by layering different faces on top of each other (including mine), adding a couple of my digital textures and then treating the composite piece in Photoshop and RadLab. I know it has a rather grotesque quality ... but somehow I like it. The quotation seemed to fit well with an image composed of so many layers that could/should be peeled away ... and my current life process.

  1. This is fabulous, Bonnie, both the image and the quote — beautifully paired. As the image suggest, the easy identities are nothing more than illusions. Nothing is what is seems, especially our cultivated personas. I also like the quote from St. John of the Cross. Again, we see the need to completely dismantle the egotistical self in order that the true self, the original self that was made in the image of God, can emerge and begin to flower again.

  2. Why thank you George! It's nice to feel understood.

  3. huh, its pretty cool...there are some hollows in the face as well that give it depth....the quote goes really well with it as well..i agree too that being undone is not a bad thing....smiles.

  4. Thanks, Brian. You're always so kind. smiles back to you!
