As drops that dream and gleam
and falling catch the sun,
Evanescent mirrors
every ... one.
~Ezra Pound
We comprehend
Flowering and fading simultaneously.
And somewhere lions still roam,
Magnificent and all unaware
Of any weakness.
~Rainer Maria Rilke
Life demands for its fulfillment and completion
a balance of joy and sorrow.
~Carl Jung
I sing the endless finales of things,
I say Nature continues, glory continues,
I praise with electric voice,
For I do not see one imperfection in the universe.
O setting sun! though the time has come,
I still warble under you, if none else does,
unmitigated adoration.
~Walt Whitman

ReplyDeleteFunny, often painfully so, how life continues to make us keep in balance. Such a great collection of those who have observed and written so beautifully about it here. Nice to come back again....EFH
ReplyDeleteGlorious indeed. Just something about fall and her colors, along with the words from beautiful poems, that take the breath away.
ReplyDeleteAhhh...

Beautiful golden foliage. How would we know happiness without knowing sorrow? The cycle of life is beautiful in all it's stages.

~Elizabeth Lawrence
Simply divine, am soaking in the words and the magnificence of the colors. I am trying to remind myself that we've had more sunshine than usual in October and so perhaps "winter" will feel a bit shorter? Ha ha, its worth a try :)
ReplyDeleteThat framing could not be more perfect Bonnie!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful photograph.
Lovely post Bonnie. I love how the leaves frame the mountain color. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteCheers!

Beautiful, Bonnie. This season sure is a wonder.
ReplyDeleteFramed to perfection, both in colour and weight.
ReplyDeleteKnow what? I am itching to insert two words in Ezra's last line: [each and ] every ...one. He probablythought it too corny to keep the scanning going.
Have a happy Halloween tomorrow evening.
