... "simple in its presence" ...

How one walks through the world,
the endless small adjustments of balance,
is affected by the shifting weights
of beautiful things.

~Elaine Scarry

A beautiful thing,
though simple in its immediate presence,
always gives us a sense of
depth below depth,
almost an innocent wild vertigo
as one falls through its levels.

~Frederick Turner

  10. I have not visited your blog for a while and really like your new format. Is the woman in the background you? It is charming – giving a feeling of “élan“ – I am not sure what it is, going to jump into a pool or doing yoga? In any case it is very nice. Your group of flowers is lovely – I am partial to the one before the last one, the mauve flowers – stunning.

  11. Gorgeous flowers! On these final summery days I cherish the plants that are still blooming. I love those 2 quotations too.

  12. Drowning in these lovely concentrations of basket flowers. Those are very difficult shots. I tried and haven't managed at all.
