The Thread

Something is very gently,

invisibly, silently,

pulling at me - a thread

or net of threads

finer than cobweb and as

elastic. I haven't tried

the strength of it. No barbed hook

pierced and tore me. Was it

not long ago this thread

began to draw me? Or

way back? Was I

born with its knot about my

neck, a bridle? Not fear

but a stirring

of wonder makes me

catch my breath when I feel

the tug of it when I thought

it had loosened itself and gone.

  1. Wow, artistic, Bonnie!

    Aloha from Waikiki

  2. lovely....your layer in the first one makes the music swirling around her visible...smiles.

  3. Beautiful images!! Love the poem!!!

  4. The Levertov poem is woven so beautifully, and with your images, the feeling I have is just gorgeous. I like your spirals, that echo the knot and the loop, showing how closing the circle of wholeness can be wonderful and not confining.

  5. Levertov's poem is wonderful, and made much more so with your images, which show the loops and spirals of the wholeness of life, that sometimes we mistake for knots (of our own making).

  6. Wonderful, wonderful, Bonnie — both the poem and the images. I have been sidelined for a few weeks, and it's nice to return and find such loveliness.
