Diamonds, Scallops and Ribbons

Yesterday, Nature blessed us with its best winter finery.  Feathery white blessings tumbled down from the sky presenting us with a Designer wardrobe collection fit for a Grande Ball.  First, dazzling diamonds were offered to drip off of our outstretched extremities:

Next, our rough, exposed edges were caressed with lacy scallops:

And with a final flourish - an array of silken ribbons as the perfect finishing touch:

(The above photographs were all taken through the rather dirty windows of our home with a Canon point-and-shoot.  But I had to show you Nature's magic regardless.)

  1. Lovely photos. I wouldn't have known it was through a window. Our weather was similar. Pretty as it is, I'm ready for spring.

  2. So beautiful. Your scallops are really something in their perfect symmetry.

We, too, had dazzling diamonds, and I had time for a walk yesterday morning. I was stunned to silence observing that galaxy.

  5. The first and the last are gorgeous. Alas, only through the lens of your camera do I appreciate this subject. This year, I got too much of a good thing and the sight of it outside my dirty windows now makes me cringe. March 21st is the day I'm waiting for. Saying goodbye to the old man and scheduling the window washers will be thrilling.

  11. How beautiful! I love how you find beauty in a lingering winter. We still have snow out back too, but it's not as fresh.
