thoughts for my weekend

Within the bounds of propriety, reason and core values, these thoughts will be used to guide me this weekend.  What thought(s) are setting the tone for your weekend?

I'll be 'stepping up' this weekend to some tasks I've been avoiding for a while.  The way is prepared and I'm hoping the sense of satisfaction that ensues from accomplishment will qualify as 'pleasure'.  Hope you find much satisfaction and pleasure this weekend too!

  1. I just love that quote from the Talmud. Many of us were raised to put off pleasure in order to do "stuff" and the quote's a great reminder that we need to live our lives fully. Without making room for pleasure and delight, we're shortchanging ourselves.

  2. I love little mottos and quotes, they usually say in so few words what I feel. Have a good weekend.

  3. An excellent quote from the Talmud.
It should sit on the desk of every right-thinking person.

I'll try and comply with it this weekend. I have already had a lovely long afternoon entertaining friends to lunch and talking, talking.
That means that tomorrow will have to be a quiet day.

    Happy weekend, Bonnie.

  4. I'm not familiar with The Talmud. If this is any indication of its brilliance, I better get myself into it.

  5. The Talmud quote is a sufficient guide for my weekend, augmented perhaps by a quote from Oscar Wilde along the same lines: "The best way to get rid of temptation is to yield to it."

P.S. I just noticed that the word verification is "graves." A fitting reminder, I suppose.

  6. A day of labor today (cleaned up and straightened up the garage shop) and a day of relaxation tomorrow.

  12. Oh, that's not where I thought you were going with that quote from the Talmud! :) (i.e., tasks) It reminded me very much of something Zorba would say in Zorba the Greek.
