I am a changing, multiform life of immense prodigious size.
~St. Augustine
I love the dark hours of my being
In which my senses drop into the deep.
I have found in them, as in old letters,
my private life that is already lived through,
and become wide and powerful now, like
legends. Then I know that there is room
in me for a second huge and timeless life.
~Rainer Maria RilkeMan walks through forests of physical things that
are also spiritual things,
that watch him affectionately.
~Charles Baudelaire.
Delusion happens when we see all that is
from the viewpoint of the self.
Enlightenment happens when we see ourselvesfrom the viewpoint of the things in nature.
~Dogen Zenji
I saw light gleaming in the unseen.
I gazed at it continually,
until the time came when
I had wholly become that light.
~Abu'life-Hosain al-Nuri

Such wonderful experimentation! I love to see where your mind takes you, artfully.
ReplyDeleteboth pics are equally amazing...the colors int he last esp...and the baudelaire quote is spot on...love it..
ReplyDeleteI just want to camp here for a while, think, reflect, examine...
ReplyDeleteI will keep that first photo and the Baudelaire quote paired together with me all day: the Buddha tree, watching us affectionately. I find myself looking forward to a day that begins like this.
ReplyDeleteI feel a rapture. Reading these words, and "ending" with that second image. Rilke. All of them. I feel that universe-expansion, the microcosm and the macrocosm. It's all inside me, and also I am infinitely small. The humble being and the magnificent being. Well, I don't know why I'm talking, when all I want to do is feel.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful post, Bonnie. The quotes, especially the one from Rilke, are marvelous. I also love the photos, Buddha resting softly in the tree and the sheer magic of the dance of light and colors in the second photo.
ReplyDeleteHi Bonnie-
ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful, moving pictures. Your style is breath taking. And the words blend perfectly. "Thank you" for these gifts this morning as I stay strong and hold truth in the light of love above all else.
Love to you
Gail
peace and hope and healing....
I love the first photo. Its just fantastic..
ReplyDeleteMe who thinks I look so well and closely, I needed my dear fellow commenters to reveal that Buddha was in that tree. Totally missed him.
ReplyDeleteThere's a lesson in this.
All these quotes are worth reproducing and reading and understanding.
ReplyDeleteIt is good that there are wise men and women, deep thinkers who make us stop short and consider our plce in the universe.
Beautiful photos and wonderful quotes! Well matched!
ReplyDeleteDear Bonnie,
ReplyDeleteThank you for lovely photos and words of wisdom. I love watching light...that makes darkes and shadow.
Kind regards, Sadami
