imprint beauty within

The key to our deepest happiness lies in changing our vision of where to find it.
~Sharon Salzberg

Our task is to imprint this provisional, perishable world so deeply in ourselves that its reality will arise in us later invisibly.
~Rainer Maria Rilke

I once had a sparrow alight upon my shoulder for a moment while I was hoeing in a village garden, and I felt that I was more distinguished by that circumstance than I should have been by any epaulet I could have worn.
~Henry David Thoreau

  3. The word that comes to mind: EXQUISITE. Words that fall like petals from spring trees tickled by wind. An image that makes me hold my breath while my eyes wander around and around again.

  4. Fabulous quotes- beautiful flowers, gentle post reminding of the wonder of nature and the honor of being here, I have a stellar jay who comes with in a foot of the peanut I am holding- even if I have to bribe, i feel honored by it's recognition in this same space and time.

  6. An exquisite little piece, Bonnie, nice on the eye and penetrating to the heart! I so agree with Sharon Salzberg. Most people look for happiness, as they do for love, in all the wrong places.

  7. I have wondered patiently for some time how long one would have to stand for that epaulet to visit.

  8. Hi, Bonnie :)
The photo almost looks like a painting or is it a painting that almost looks like a photo? It is beautiful, as are you.
I love the quotes! I think Rilke's quote is my favorite today.
Good to see you here. I have missed visiting.
    Hugs and Best Wishes!

  18. Ruth: Yes, it occured to me that Thoreau must not have been doing much hoeing! He was probably standing very still mouth agape at the wonder around him, when suddenly ....
