Autumn Splendor Still Shines

These photographs will be the last I will post this year of trees in their Autumnal splendour.  They were taken at or near my home in Quebec earlier this week.  Since then temperatures have fallen, rain and winds have stripped some trees bare, while others still emit such amazing light with their Fall garb.   Wherever you live I hope these colours please and even inspire you.  Have a great Autumn weekend.

  1. hi bonnie - it's amazing isn't it!!! autumn. the leaves. the weather change. the blue blue skies and then the grey scale days. we have somehow miraculously manged to hold onto a lot of our leaves. the weaker trees that are perhaps dealing with something else, have let go of a lot of their leaves. squirrels and chipmunks are running wildly back and forth. mmmm. steven

  3. It is so hard to stop taking pictures this autumn. It's been a fantastic season.
We have rain and wind forecast; soon the whole glory will have disappeared.

I've spent the day in the garden, tidying up,then picking a huge bunch of white dahlias before the rain rots them, but every so often I've had to stop and sigh, nature really is miraculous.

  4. Such beautiful pictures, Bonnie, I would not know which one to chose. The colors, the light, the movement complement each other so wonderfully well – and the simplicity of them all are like art pieces.

  5. I'm a bit embarrassed to admit that I've never been east during the fall to see these stunning colours for myself. But at least there are lovely photos like yours that allow me to enjoy them second-hand.

  18. Fall has been so fleeting it seems, much more so than usual. And I do therefore find myself enjoying what is left of it. I seem to have an abundance of green leaves on the ground though, withered but green!

I always delight in your photos :)

  20. Ooooo! I love the second one and the one with the lamp post. We don't have a lot of fall color in Colorado so this was a wonderful treat. Thanks!

    Cheers!

  21. Gorgeous foliage! Amazing to think that these are the "real" colors and the chlorophyll is what masks it most of the year.

I really like the photo with the old fashioned street lamp against the blue sky and beautiful leaves...something neat about it! Even the street lamps are beautiful where you live, you lucky, lucky woman!
