Causes and Effects

We cannot live only for ourselves.
A thousand fibers connect us . . .
and among those fibers,
as sympathetic threads,
our actions run as causes,
and they come back to us
as effects.

I love the purple people behind the purple warp and weft under the spell of the causes and effects...

  4. hello bonnie, i love this image - people walking through waving threads. some threads bind us, some define us, some trail behind us and some beckon to us "pick me up" , "make something of me". each thread carries with it an enormous weight. it's the weight of its connection to all other threads as herman suggests. thanks for popping this up bonnie. have a peaceful day. steven

  5. What a startlingly true comment about commmunity, from a man who wrote of those who moved into their worlds and adventures alone: Captain Ahab and Billy Budd. Great post. Why am I surprised?

  7. I've never run across the Melville quote. What a comment on unity, cohesion, interconnectedness! It looks lovely against the background, too.
