Causes and Effects

We cannot live only for ourselves.
A thousand fibers connect us . . .
and among those fibers,
as sympathetic threads,
our actions run as causes,
and they come back to us
as effects.

  1. Good morning / evening Bonnie

I love the purple people behind the purple warp and weft under the spell of the causes and effects...

    Happy days

  2. Good morning! Yes all of those threads in each of our tapestries bind and blend our days together. Hope your Sat. is a good one!!
    Hugs, Sarah

  3. Perfect Bonnie.

    Love Renee xoxo

  4. hello bonnie, i love this image - people walking through waving threads. some threads bind us, some define us, some trail behind us and some beckon to us "pick me up" , "make something of me". each thread carries with it an enormous weight. it's the weight of its connection to all other threads as herman suggests. thanks for popping this up bonnie. have a peaceful day. steven

  5. What a startlingly true comment about commmunity, from a man who wrote of those who moved into their worlds and adventures alone: Captain Ahab and Billy Budd. Great post. Why am I surprised?

  6. I love this quotation - just as I love Melville's books too Bonnie.

  7. I've never run across the Melville quote. What a comment on unity, cohesion, interconnectedness! It looks lovely against the background, too.

  8. Even our thoughts have cause and effect...connecting us all.

  9. Dearest Bonnie,

Celebration! HUGS! Gratitude! Praise! for all you do, for all you are, for all you express, for all you choose to share. Thank you for the honor you have brought my way. And of course congratulations to you! The, "Bella Sinclair Award," is accepted with joyful gratitude. Today's post in acknowledgment.

AH, YES, cause and effect ... this our universe in all its splendor, challenge, quest...

    In loving friendship,

  10. Love this quote from Melville. I was just reading Debra's post about Moby Dick and he was on my mind. So beatifully entwined with this piece of art. Love it! Have a great weekend. Barbara

  11. Life is so very much about cause and effect. I wish more people understood this!
